Some old, early, lab note books were found in Peter's office.  I surmise he attached some sentimental value to them. These are excerpts.

I first starting doing cryobiology in about 1987 and met Peter in 1987 or 1988.  By 1994 or so I was spending 6 weeks a summer in his lab.  In the Fall of 1997, I took a sabbatical semester with him at ORNL.  Starting in 2004, I 'sold' my Spring Semesters to Peter's grant and spent the next four spring semesters at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK).  I retired from IUPUI at midnight EDT on June 30th, 2007.  After that I spent 1 to 2 months a year at UTK with Peter; typically during the winter months to get away from the Indiana cold weather.  Knoxville is way nicer in the winter :)  I confess that Peter was more dedicated to cryobiology than I.  For the past few years, I have devoted more and more time to astronomy and less and less to cryobiology.  If you don't like my web mastering skills, tell Bill Gates to update Front Page 2003!
